Questions for Greater Discussion

  • Read Judges 2:6-10 and 2 Timothy 2:2. What does it look like to be a part of the “hand off process” in teaching the next generation about the Gospel? Why did Joshua not raise up another leader like Moses did?

  • What is the difference between preaching to someone and dialoging with someone? What is the role of each one in our lives as Christians?

  • How can you connect with someone away from God without compromising your convictions?

  • Who is someone in your life you are dialoguing with or connecting with for Gospel purposes? If no one comes to mind, consider who you might begin working to dialogue with.

  • What is the difference between the “load bearing walls of the Christian life” and “the attic” we often wind up focusing on? How can you zero down on the foundational pieces of our faith in your interpersonal interactions?

  • What does it look like to see Jesus as “an unknown god”?

  • Consider finding one “dechurched” or “unchurched” friend and reach out to them. Consider inviting them over for dinner and dialoguing with them.

  • If you need a “front porch,” go visit with Scott Tuesdays at 7PM @ UBC East in April.
