In this edition of UBC "Sermon Discussions" Jason Wing answers questions related to his Genesis 46-47:12 sermon.

The main idea for the sermon was: When we trust who God is, we can go wherever He leads.

Questions discussed in this episode:

Quote: "Genealogies are not fillers. They are the bloodline leading to Jesus.”  ~ Pastor Jason

There were three characteristics of God that you taught us to see in this passage. God is faithful. God is sovereign. God is present.

Q. Why doesn’t it feel like God is present as he seems to be in scripture? (Audible, physical)

You ended your sermon with encouraging Jesus' followers to heed to God's calling in their lives even if when it seems it could be uncomfortable.

Q. Sharing the gospel is uncomfortable for me to do. Should this concern me?

Submitting to God to go where he is leading takes trust. Not on myself by fully on God.

Q. What are some warning signs that show I might be relying on myself rather than God?

When I think of trusting God it makes me think of the old hymn I used to sing growing up "I Surrender All"

Q. What does “surrender all” to God really look like?
