What does this passage teach us historically?
- Moses was writing to the Israelites in the wilderness which is why he particularly mentions Canaan. 
- Noah becomes “naked and ashamed” (Genesis 3:10) 
- Ham shames his father and his line is cursed as a result 
What does this passage teach us theologically?
- He faithfully fulfills his covenants and promises 
- He mercifully covers our sin and shame 
How does this passage apply to our lives?
- Recognize that shame is something we all carry 
- Realize nothing can be uncovered about you that can’t be covered by Jesus

- What was the most convincing argument on the curse of Ham to you? 
- Read Leviticus 18:1-7. The practices of Canaan and Egypt were wicked. What are some ways in which we must stand in contrast to the growing unrighteousness around us? 
- Why is Genesis 9 so demoralizing after the flood account? How does this point to our need for an ultimate covenant? 
- What does it look like practically for Christ to cover our shame? Can you share a time when you needed to receive the mercy of God to cover shame in your life? 
- Can you think of a time you tried to cover something you needed to uncover before the Lord and repent? Read 1 John 1:7-9 and reflect. 
- Read Ephesians 5:18. What do we need to be aware of when it comes to drunkeness as believers?
