The Joy of Missions

Read Luke 10:17-24 and pray together
Theme: Joy of Missions
Main Idea: Jesus invites us into the joy of missions.
What is biblical passion?
Definition: Biblical passion is “the heart set free to pursue that which is truly worthy. Those who set their hearts on what is most worthy (The glory of God) live with joy-filled abandon.” ~ Francisco Jimenez Pene
In verses 10:17-20, Francisco talked about joy. He then read v. 21 and spoke about “a bigger joy.” What is the “bigger joy?” How are we to experience this type of joy?
What are a few “passions and pursuits” we find in our culture that can badly influence our passion for God’s glory? What are some ways we can combat “conforming to the pattern of this world”?
How can we grow in passion for missions?
Francisco mentioned that “God is attracted to weakness.” What did he mean by this statement? How can understanding this provocative thought help us embrace such graces as humility, honesty, and child-likeness? How can this idea help shape our prayers and demonstrate our dependency on God? Consider 2 Corinthians 12:7-10.

A parting word for your Growth Group
“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you. Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth. ” ~ Psalm 67:1-4
