Oh Sweet Basil Cinnamon Rolls

Roll Ingredients:

  • 1 C warm water

  • ½ C heavy cream (or whole milk)

  • 4.5 T yeast

  • 1 C Sugar

  • 2 tsp. sugar (separate)

  • ½ C buttermilk at room temp

  • 2 T sea salt

  • 2 eggs lightly whisked

  • ⅓ C canola oil

  • ⅓ C butter melted

  • 7-8 C flour

Roll Directions:

  1. Mix water to cream (warm 30 seconds)

  2. Add yeast to 2t sugar

  3. Foam 10 minutes

  4. Warm buttermilk, add to yeast

  5. Whisk Mix in with yeast

  6. Add flour

  7. Mix until ball forms

  8. Add flour if sticky

  9. Rise 1-2 hours

  10. Roll out, spread with butter

  11. Mix other & spread

  12. Roll & cut

  13. Refrigerate

  14. Rise 1-2 hours

  15. Bake at 350 for 20-22 minutes

Filling:

  • 12 T butter soft

  • 2 C brown sugar + 2 T brown sugar

  • ½ C white sugar

  • 5 T cinnamon

  • 4 T Cornstarch

Frosting:

  • 6 oz. cream cheese soft

  • 4 T butter soft

  • 1.5 T vanilla

  • 1.5 T corn syrup

  • 2-2.5 C powdered sugar
